Frog Could Predict Powerful Quake
Researchers have found that frogs in general have a sixth sense about natural disasters, and be able to predict when an earthquake will strike.
In an extraordinary example of penerawangan by animals, 96% male toad breeding sites as far evacuated 46 miles from the epicenter of the earthquake that hit L'Aquilia Italy last year, just five days before the attack happened.
Three days before the earthquake, not a single frog breeding pairs left at the scene, according to a study published by the Zoological Society of London Journal of Zoology. And no young frogs are ready to breed there in place, when the earthquake struck with a force 4.5 on the Richter scale.
According to researchers from the UK Open University, the male frog will remain in the hatchery began to lay eggs early breeding season and spawning is completed.
They believe that frogs can detect environmental changes are neglected by many people, such as the release of gas or a specific particle in the ground before the seismic activity occurs. The earthquake will appear and seem to encourage evakuasinya hatching activity.
Dr Rachel Grant who studied the impact velocity of the moon toward the frog when an earthquake occurs that says, "Our study is the first to document the behavior of animals before, during and after an earthquake."
Dr Grant said that he was very surprised by the absence of frogs for five days before the earthquake struck. He believed that amphibians can evolve to evacuate themselves when an area changes with the earthquake is felt.
Earthquakes can cause flooding, falling rocks or landslides that can destroy the population in one time and the frogs are moving to higher ground and safe.
Their numbers increase until the last aftershock occurred.
Displacement frogs are associated with disturbances in the ionosphere, an electromagnetic layer on top of earth's atmosphere gases that emits radioactive radium and gravitational waves of a quake.
Earthquakes a rare phenomenon, but the frogs have been there on planet earth for 450 million years. Long span of time to evolve to respond to potential disasters. Frogs being studied in Italy is identical to that found in frogs in the garden of England Relate Post
